Wren Middle students participate in the Clemson/Carolina/Other Food Drive during the Thanksgiving Season. Students bring in canned and nonperishable food items which are sorted, boxed, and given to our families who need additional assistance at Christmas. Remaining food is given to the Piedmont Emergency Relief Center. |
The Red Ribbon Week Campaign originated when Federal Agent Enrique Camarena was murdered by drug traffickers in 1985. He left behind a wife, three young sons, and citizens angered by the senseless destruction caused by drugs. After his death, a small community displayed red ribbons out of respect for Mr. Camarena’s courage. The red ribbon has become the symbol of the sacrifice made by Agent Camarena and the commitment that must be made by everyone if the war against drugs is to be won. The mission of the Red Ribbon Week Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a drug-free America.
